Lead Generation

CRM > Leads > Create

Odoo CRM Module > Lead Generation

  1. In the lead creation form, you can select a customer or create a new customer and link to this lead. 
  2. Add a complete address of the customer. You can fill the optional fields like email, contact name, job position, mobile, phone, fax, etc. 
  3. The corresponding salesperson’s details will be automatically filled. The sales team will also be assigned automatically.

CRM > Leads > Select a lead > Click on Convert to Opportunity

Once you click on ‘Convert to Opportunity,’ a new popup will appear and it will create a fresh opportunity.

If you select ‘Merge with existing opportunities’, a new option will appear to choose the opportunities.

You can assign the new opportunity to a salesperson and his team.

If you select ‘Do not link with a customer,’ then no customer will be linked.

Sales Pipeline

  1. The opportunities will be displayed in the Sales Pipeline section. 
  2. You can go to My Pipeline menu and see the opportunities grouped by their corresponding stages.

One of the main features of Odoo is the drag and drop functionality. You can change the opportunity status or stage by dragging from one stage to another.

CRM > Sales > My Pipeline > Click on +icon i.e Add Column

You can configure the stages by clicking on Add column (i.e +icon).

  1. You can edit any existing opportunity, select the opportunity from the list and click on the edit button.
  2. The Mark Won and Mark Lost options are used to mark the opportunity as won or lost.

  1. Expected revenue, conversion or probability related to the opportunity will be displayed at the extreme left corner.
  2. You can check the number of meetings by clicking on the button at the top right corner of the form.
  3. The contact information tab contains all the contact details related to the opportunity.

  1. You have to create a quotation once you win the opportunity. 
  2. The next step is to initiate the actual sales procedure. 
  3. Prepare a quotation and send it to the customer.

You can create a quotation by two methods:

Method 1: 

CRM > Sales > My Quotations > Create

  1. The validate field is used to set the validity or expiration date of the quote.
  2. The Payment Terms specify the conditions for paying an invoice. (You can set it to Immediate Payment, 10 Days, 15 Days, etc).
  3. The Send By Email button is used to send the quotation to customer via email.
  4. Under the Other Information Tab, you can provide details about the salesperson and team.

Method 2: 

CRM > Sales > My Pipeline > Click on an opportunity


Once you win the opportunity, click on ‘New Quotation.’ It will automatically create a new quotation for the won opportunity.
