Forms In Angular:

Forms are the most crucial block of any application to collect data from users or website/app visitors. Developing forms requires design skills and framework support for two-way data binding, error handling, and validation.

Types of forms:

Angular provides two ways for handling user input through the form.

  • 1) Template Driven Forms.
  • 2) Reactive Forms

Template Driven Forms:

In template-driven forms most of the logic, we drove by the template. We have to write very little code in this typescript file because in this all the work is done in our HTML file. Template-driven forms make use of the "FormsModule".

  • 1) simple basic form
  • 2) Easy to start
  • 3) Based on Template(HTML)

In which case should we use Template Driven Forms?

If we have a small form that does not have many fields and the form is not dynamic then in this case the template-driven form will be best for us. Because in this form it is very difficult to control the form dynamically.

If we want to use Template Driven Form in our application then we have to first import it into the app.module.ts file.

import { FormsModule } from '@angular/forms'

Reactive Forms:

The logic exists mainly in the component or typescript code and the reactive forms are mostly synchronous in nature. When we use Reactive Forms, we do most of the code in the TypeScript file because it is completely different from Template Driven Forms. Reactive forms are based on "ReactiveFormsModule"

1) complex form with Greater Control

2) we define the structure of the form in the typescript file.

3) Based on Typescript(.ts file)

In which case should we use Reactive Forms?

Reactive Forms are for Reactions If we have any complex or dynamic form then in that case it will be best to use Reactive Forms. If we want our form to have complex validations then in this case also reactive form will be best for us.

How to import reactive forms?

In app.module.ts file we have to import { ReactiveFormsModule } from '@angular/forms';

Which form should we use?

If you create a complex form then you should use the reactive form, if you make a basic form that does not have many fields and you want simple validation then the template-driven form will be best for you.
