DBeaver is a free and open-source database management tool for developers. It is a desktop application which is written in Java and can be used to create and manage databases across a wide range of database management systems such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, SQL Server, MariaDB, Sybase, Apache Hive, Apache Ignite, and many more. It also supports NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and MongoDB.

Also the databases that come with JDBC or ODBC drivers. It is a very simple and fast application that you don't even require any pre-requisite knowledge for using this, as it provides a user friendly interface that can help to navigate from one option to another easily. Also its autocomplete feature will let you write less and will compose your queries much faster. It comes with many different features as mentioned below.

Versions :

DBeaver comes with three different versions such as -

  1. Community Edition : It is a free and initial edition of DBeaver which was released in 2010. It has the support of various databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, Apache Hive, Apache Phoenix, Apache drill, Teradata, SAP HANA, H2, SQLite etc.
  2. Eclipse Plugin Edition : You can also download the DBeaver tool inside the Eclipse IDE using the plugin. This version is mostly preferred by the developers who use the Eclipse IDE for software development.
  3. Enterprise Edition : It is not free but a commercial version of DBeaver that supports NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis, InfluxDB along with the eclipse plugin support.
